The shore

Nothing is permanent, sorrow, joy, pain, everything will change. Everything will fade and allow for something new. The only thing in life that should never change is honor and integrity. Like the sea and the sky, these things should be constant; they shape you, heal you, and make you strong.  Live your life with honor and integrity, never give less than your best, and if you do these things no one can ask for more, and you will never know regrets.

Pain will heal, human lives are fragile and even joy that has come from years of friendship can end in moments, leaving only sorrow. Just as storms will come and wash away the sand, leaving behind a faint shadow of the previous scene. But in time the wind and the waves will rebuild everything that was lost, in a stronger and beautiful way. Just as the memories that you hold and the new friendships you forge will help to heal the cracks in your soul.

Do not bury your past, but instead allow the tides of life to wash away your scars.

Laugh.

Cry.

Forgive.

And do not feel shame in that, it is not weakness. If you feel joy, then laugh, share the light that is in your soul. If you feel pain, cry, it eases your burden and brings you peace. And never be afraid to forgive, the burden of a grudge will hurt you far more than the transgression against you. Seek justice and truth, you do not have to bend down, but never forget to forgive. 

Do not look down on someone for their cloths, their choices, their lifestyles. You never know how they came to be in that place, you do not know what devastation has befallen them.  Reach out, and listen, you may be the single guiding light, you may be the beacon that can guide them back to shore, but do not allow yourself to got lost in their troubles. You must never lose the way back home.

This is life, it is ever changing, battered by the wind, devastated by the storms, built by the waves, and lit by the sky.  Live it with a full heart because joy will always outlast pain.
